Davao Light and Power Company

Davao Light is the third largest privately-owned electric distribution utility in the country in terms of customer size and annual kWh sales.

Davao Light’s franchise area covers Davao City, areas of Panabo City, and the municipalities of Carmen, Dujali, and Santo Tomas in Davao del Norte, with a population of approximately 2.3 million and a total area of 3,561 square kilometers.

As of October 2024, Davao Light served a total of 491,587 customers with a recorded peak demand of 537 MW.

The growth in demand resulted in total sales of 2,487,973 MWh as of October 2024. Davao Light recorded a total growth in energy sales of 5.70% and an increase in demand of 5.42%.

Davao Light’s distribution systems loss at 5.33% remains below the government-mandated cap of 5.50%. Systems loss below the mandated caps translates to reduced power costs, resulting in customer savings.
